Taylor Mitchell
Taylor Mitchell also known as TayMitch Originals was born and raised in Nashville, TN. Taylor goes by the name TayMitch Originals to embrace her childhood and her last name because she loves her family, and they are her biggest supporters. Mitchell’s love for art started when she was a child because she used to watch Bob Ross paint on tv all the time. Mitchell was very creative as a child but did not take it seriously until she went off to college. During her freshman year at Fisk University, while walking into the art building with a roommate, her professor encouraged her to take a basic painting class. The very next semester Taylor would take the class and begin to fall in love with art.
Taylor then became an art major and took several more art courses, including sculpture and photography. She would go on to become one of the founding members of the Tanner Art Society named after Henry O. Tanner. During her time at Fisk, Michell discovered the many forms of art and curated her first art show.
Although abstract painting is Mitchell’s favorite form of art to create, she loves to design many forms of art. In addition to abstract painting, Taylor can also knit, crotchet, craft, and create resin art. Taylor also loves to use makeup and her hair to express her creativity. She prefers to create abstract paintings because when she designs various pieces, she loves to listen to music and relax. She loves to watch how the different colors immerse and blend themselves together. Taylor prefers to paint with acrylic paint but in the past, she has used oil and tempera paint.
In addition to Mitchell’s many accomplishments she has participated in a couple of live painted events, she has hosted a sip and paint, and she has also restored an older piece of artwork for a family friend. In September of last year, Mitchell held her first solo art show in Nashville, TN. The show was a huge success and lot of fun for Mitchell. She plans to host another art event soon. Taylor’s overall goal is to own an art gallery and host student shows for artists of all ages. Taylor’s desire is to have a larger focus on college students so that she can help them gain more exposure and gallery knowledge.
We wish Taylor much success in all her endeavors!
